Tables

Presently we have two dining room tables in stock. One is a new top in quartersawn white oak for a 54" diameter table on a period pedestal base with three 12" wide leaves, also new. The other is also a 54" diameter top by Hastings Furniture Co as shown below.   If you are interested please give me a call at 866-MISSION for details.

Hastings Furniture Co. Dining Table

Inventory No. A1024:   $1,500.00 As Is
$1,900.00 with four 10-1/2" leaves (leaves would have to be made and will be stained to match)

This table is 54" in diameter when closed.  It opens 44" and will accept 4 - 10-1/2" wide leaves for a full length of 96".  At its full length it will seat 10 or 11 people.  It is 30-1/4" high with the casters (new) although they could be removed in which case it would be a little under 29" high.  The under side of the apron is (with the casters) 26" above the floor. Please note that the matching arm chairs (shown below are not included in this price) and have arms that are 26-1/2" high) will not fit under the apron.   The chairs are shown on our Unmarked Chair Page.

This table (and the chairs) had at one time been painted white.  You can still see a little white paint on the slides in the photo at the top right.  I obtained the set after it had been stripped and finished in a ghastly coat of polyurethane.  Who ever stripped it did not do a great in the first place.  I stripped it a second time making sure to get rid of almost any signs of it ever having been painted and then finished it with clear shellac.  It was then rubbed out and given a good coat of furniture wax.  The shellac was applied with a brush, not sprayed.  As with the chairs it was obvious that the table was fumed quartersawn white oak.

The top is solid quartersawn white oak, not veneered.  As noted above there no leaves at present.  Four 10-1/2" wide leaves can be made for an additional $400 in quartersawn white oak.  However, they would be stained to matched, not fumed.

If you are interested in the table and chiars I would be willing to discount the set so call and make me an offer.  I can be reached at 866-MISSION

J K Rishel Furniture Co. Sideboard and Server

Inventory No. A1013

The sideboard is 54" wide and 22" deep.  It is 37-1/2" to the top.  The back is 13-1/2" high with a 4" by 52" shelf above the mirror.  The mirror is 9-1/2" by 45-1/2".  $1250.00

Both pieces are in excellent condition with minimal wear for their age.  The top surfaces show some loss of detail but not much.  The balck lines were painted on as part of the finish, they are not inlay.

The server is 38" wide and 19" deep.  The top is 30" high with an additional 5" high backsplash.  The shelf is 6-1/2" above the floor.

Server:  $525.00

Both the sideboard and server are marked in the drawer with the above plastic tag.

Sideboards

Stickley Brothers Sideboard #7820  in near perfect condition, both signed with a metal tag and numbered on the back.  All of the hardware - hinges, pulls, escutcheons, nails and screws are original.  There is one small escutcheons under one of the door pulls missing.  Other than that one small piece, everything is original.  This piece has never been painted but some of the original finish was in bad shape (worn or badly crazed) so it was cleaned off and recoated with clear shellac and a high quality furniture wax.

Inventory No:  CWL1  $2,950.00

Note the missing escutcheon on the left cabinet door pulls

The light wood below the tag is the chamfered edge of the mirror back.  The tag is on the back of the upper rail of the mirror.

The position of the Stickley Brothers tag can be seen just right of center on the upper rail of the mirror.  Also note the model number to the left of center on the back of the cabinet section.

The top is 60" wide by 22" deep and is 37-1/4" tall.  The mirrored back  adds and additional 15-1/2" and is 57" wide.  The mirror itself is 43" wide and 9-1/8" high. All of the drawers have their original bottoms and are dovetailed in all four corners. The drawer bottoms are faced with birdseye maple.  The silverware drawer is missing the front to back dividers and its ooze leather liner, however these can be replaced with new pieces if desired.

The distortion in the top is a result of my camera angle, not a defect in the top.

The splines in the top are 1/16" thick and 1/2" wide as typical of Stickley Brothers.  Also note that they are not actually this light in color, just appear this way as a result of the bright sunlight.

Stickley Brothers Sideboard #8900

Inventory No:  A1010   $2,750.00

If you look real close you can see the distinctive 1/16" thick by 1/2" wide Stickley Brothers spline.

Right half of the front.

Left half of the top.

Drawers are dovetailed.

This is a Stickley Brothers Sideboard #8900 that has been modified (the front legs have been cut short at the top and the side rails removed) and it is refinished.

It is 58-5/8" wide and 21-3/4" deep.  It is 36-1/2" high and 43-1/2" to the top of the back splash.  With exception of the finish (it has been refinished) everything is original:  There are no replaced parts, all of the hardware is original including the drawer handles, the hinges, the hinge escutcheons, the escutcheons nails, everything but the finish.  However, the new finish is shellac, just like the original. No polyurethane, no lacquer, no varnish. Just 2 coats of clear shellac and a good quality furniture wax.
