Stickley Brothers Arm Chair #380-1/2 Inventory No: A-915 $750.00
This chair # 380-1/2, and the associated side chairs # 380, are designated
as dining chairs. So, if you have the rare set of 5 with only 1 arm
chair you can now complete the set with a second arm chair. This
chair is solid with no loose joints. It is signed with a metal tag
under the seat and the seat is splined with the typical Stickley Brothers
1/2" wide by 1/16" thick splines.
Sorry, this is a little out of focus. I'll try to get a better one soon.
Both arms have great figuring.

| L&JG Stickley Rocker
This L&JG Stickley rocker is in great condition, solid joints, pegged mortise and tenon joinery. Original finish and cushion. We cleaned the frame, reglued three loose joints and gave it a good coat of Briwax. The cushion is the original cushion for this chair and appears to still have the original faux leather covering. The seat is in usable condition but shows considerable wear. The springs are good with all the cross ties in place and unbroken. We can recover the seat (includes stripping the cushion down to just the wood frame and springs and replacing all the other materials) in your fabric for an additional $85. Leather is also available. The chair is 23" deep at the arm, 21-1/4" wide across the back legs and 38" high. The seat is 20" wide and 19" deep. The front legs are mortised through the arms. There are 6 slats across the back, each slat is 2" wide. The arms are 22-1/2" high, and the seat is 16" high. The front is 24" wide across the front legs. Inventory No. A881 $1600.00
This cushion was once red.

Double pegged mortise and tenon joints at the top of the back rail.
Typical L & JG corbel.
The front seat rail is double pegged at the front leg.
What's left of the label on the outside of the back seat rail. Pretty worn, but if you know what the label looks like you can tell what this is: "The Work of L&JG Stickley" a red and yellow decal used between 1912 and 1918.
Typical curved L&JG Stickley corner block.

| Gustav Stickley Rocker #305
This is an original Gus Rocker with original finish and signed with a red mark. A photo of this rocker can be found in the reprint catalogue "Collected Works of Gustav Stickley" on page 71 of the 1904 section. The back is 32" high. The seat is 14" high and 16" square. All of the seat material is original with the exception of new leather with a little cotton padding, and the cambric underneath the seat. It is oak with a dark finish. It has been cleaned and given a good coat of wax. Some of the edges are rough, but then again it is close to 100 years old.
The photo above shows the rocker before we had the new leather put on. You can see the original under material tacked to the side rails. |
This is the under side of the seat with the new black cambric. |
