Gustav Stickley Morris Chair #346

Circa 1905  Invertory No: A1006  $1,950.00 as is

Clearly showing the red jointers compass.  Less noticeable is the the script STICKLEY in the box below the compass.  This is the mark used in  1903 and 1904.  This chair is over 105 years old.

This is the left front leg at the front seat stretcher showing the double pinned joint.

The back in the most reclined position.

From the left side.

From right side with back in upright position.

Cushions recovered in your fabric would be an additional $200 which includes a additional padding to lenghten back cushion and add loops or straps to hang the cushion from the back.  Covering in leather also available.

Some dimensions:

The seat is 18" deep with the back cushion in place and 23" wide.  The arms are  23" high, the seat is 17" high.  The back is 21-1/4" wide, the front is 25-3/4" wide.  The arms are 4-1/2" wide at the widest point and 34" long.  In the most upright position the back is 40-1/2" high, 38" in the most reclined position.

The front and back seat stretchers are double pinned at the legs.  The side stretchers are mortise and tenon, but not pinned.

The back is leaning back to the max in the above photo so its reflective properties make it look dull compared to the arms.

The covering is an old reupholstery in vinyl that is stiff.  The seat cushion is ripped.  The back cushion is not as tall as the back and while I've seen other examples of this model with similar size back cushions, the photo in the "Collected Works of Gustav Stickley" page 63 show a knife edge cushion that is as tall as the back.

Left side front leg corbel.  Note the dowel pin holding the corbel to the arm.

Upper section of the back without the cushion showing the pinned joints in the cross pieces.
